Johnny Cash & June Carter - Give My Love to Rose (1972)

If you´ve seen Johnny Cash perform, you know how it makes you smile when Johnny introduces his wife June Carter. At that point in the show you know they´re going to sing "Jackson" or "It Ain´t Me, babe", and when they put their voices together, in front of an audience of thousands, or millions, you know that they sound exactly like they must, sitting around at home, singing for the love of it. That´s the quality that put Johnny Cash and June Carter at the top. Both as individual artists, and as one of the world´s all-time great duo´s, they make us share their love of singing good folk and country music.
This album is special because six of the songs are Johnny Cash / June Carter classics, including the lovely "Pack Up Your Sorrows" their version of Ray Charles "I Got A Woman" and the new "Give My Love To Rose". It also includes four of the best-loved Johnny Cash recordings (without June) including his hit "Orange Blossom Special" and one of his most moving indian songs, "The Ballad Of Ira Hayes".
